Course details

Cost

$985, including all equipment hire, materials, training and certification fees.

Duration

3 days (weather dependent) with five Adventure Dives and focused briefings/debriefs.

Structure

As soon as you book the course we will sign you up for the Advanced Course eLearning and you can start completing the theory for the Adventure Dives that we will be doing when you come.

When you come to Sundive on the course dates you will complete 5 Adventure dives at Julian Rocks with one of our experienced instructors over the 3 days.

All courses include 2 mandatory specialties:

  • Deep Diving – Cross the 18 metre limit and learn to handle and plan a deeper dive down to 30 metres.
  • Underwater Navigation – Enhance your navigation skills and learn to use a compass and orient yourself underwater.

The other 3 specialties will be chosen depending on sea conditions and group preference from:

  • Boat Diving – Learn how a boat dive is planned and practice diving from our boat, enjoying a relaxed dive at Julian Rocks.
  • Drift Diving – Learn and practice how to drift dive, admiring the marine life of Julian Rocks along your drift.
  • Underwater Naturalist – Learn to recognise different marine life species and spend a dive paying attention to the smaller and wonderful diversity of marine life that Julian Rocks has to offer.
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy – Spend a dive practising your buoyancy and perfecting your trim.
  • Search and Rescue – Start learning about underwater search and gain some basic rescue skills.

Note that we cannot offer Night Diving and Wreck Diving as specialties at Sundive as those dives are not possible at our location.
