**The Sundive Open Water Winter Package**

The Open Water Course is your first step into the underwater world. On completion of this course you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver. This certification is internationally recognised so you will be able to dive anywhere in the world. Of over 100 diver training organisations worldwide, PADI trains more than 60% of the world’s divers.

Sundive is a 5 star training facility providing all training on site. Our instructional staff are highly motivated professionals, with many years of experience behind them. Sundive ensures your safety and enjoyment throughout your training. All our training dives are conducted at the Julian Rock Marine Park (rated in the Top 10 dive locations in Australia). For the winter months of 2008, June, July and August, we have bundled this excellent value dive course with the best and cheapest YHA accommodation in Byron Bay. Read on for more details.

Accommodation

* 3 Nights accommodation at the Cape Byron YHA (http://www.capebyronhostel.com.au/ )
* This is Byron's best hostel accommodation. Its quiet, clean, and relaxed.
* The YHA is conveniently located on site with the dive shop and right in the middle of town.
* Both Sundive and the YAH are located only 200m from the Clarkes Beach
* Additional nights are available at a discounted rate, please enquire when booking.

Accomodation Upgrade:
* If you are looking for something more private than a hostel we also offer self-contained apartments.

* These are provided by the Byron Central Apartments (http://www.byroncentral.com/index.htm )
* Also located next door to Sundive, they are conveniently located right in town and 200m to the Beach.
* These apartments are available at 15% off RRP.
* These apartments are priced subject to availability. Enquire when booking.

PADI Open Water Course
* All Training and Certification costs
* All Equipment Hire
* Log book, Recreational Dive Tables and the PADI Open Water Manual

Schedule:
• 4 Full Days of Training (8.00am – 4.00pm)
• Courses begin every Tuesday & Friday
• Part-Time course are available, these run over two weekends (please call for available dates)
• accommodation is provided for the three nights following the end of the first day.

Course Structure
• Days 1 & 2 - classroom theory and pool training
• Days 3 & 4 - two boat dives per day at the Julian Rocks MP
• MAX Training Depth 18m

Fitness Requirements
• For certification you will need to demonstrate water proficiency skills.
• This Includes a 200m swim and a 10min survival float

Additional Costs:

A Diving Medical
• A Medical is required by Australian Law for Open Water certification. We will organise this for students.
• Cost is $60.50. If you do not pass the medical all costs are refundable.
• Minimum age is 14 years. Exceptions for 12-14 year old available at the practitioners discretion.
• Medical conditions of concern include: Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Heart & Lung conditions, Pregnancy.

• You must advise us of any medical conditions you might have when booking.

Passport Photos
• Two passport photos are required per student. You will need to bring these on the first day.
